How we helped QL Maxincome improve CRM performance and cut costs by 90%
QL Maxincome runs the customer-loyalty CRM behind its FamilyMart stores. Axrail migrated it off struggling on-premises hardware onto a serverless AWS architecture that now serves more than a million members.

About QL Maxincome
QL Maxincome oversees FamilyMart in Malaysia. FamilyMart is the world's second-largest convenience store chain, with more than 17,500 stores across markets globally.
Behind the stores sits the CRM application that manages QL Maxincome's customer loyalty programme. It runs on the member data of a base that keeps growing, and it had been hosted on the company's own on-premises servers.

The challenges
Slow CRM performance
The application was slowing on its on-premises server: data processing lagged, reports the team relied on could no longer be generated, and push notifications took several hours to reach members.
A growing member pool
The infrastructure could not accommodate the growing member base. What had been built for one scale was buckling at the next, with no room to grow into.
High on-premises costs
The on-premises SQL Server carried heavy licensing and running costs.
The solution
After evaluating the workload, we migrated QL Maxincome’s CRM to AWS in stages rather than in one risky lift. The first step replatformed the application’s database onto Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), moving it off the strained on-premises server and onto managed infrastructure.
From there the application was refactored: we decoupled the architecture into serverless functions on AWS Lambda, so processing work scales on demand instead of against a fixed machine.
For better cost optimisation, the database was then modernised onto Amazon DynamoDB. That removes the database licensing cost and keeps the store highly available and automatically scalable, with no server capacity for QL Maxincome to size, patch or outgrow.
In their words
The team at Axrail has strong product knowledge and execution skills. They were able to deliver the CRM and e-Commerce solutions as per the project requirements. They are also working closely with us to propose the latest AWS technology and projects that can meet our business requirements.
Conclusion
The migration to AWS was a success for QL Maxincome: improved performance, reduced costs, and a platform that accommodates an ever-growing member pool while constantly improving user experience.
Our team worked with full commitment to ensure the solution was delivered as promised, and continues to propose the AWS technology and projects that meet QL Maxincome's business requirements.
